12 Knots is the most Energy-Efficient-Full-Speed of the vessel we use to live on.
We don’t want to go faster alone but we want to go further together.
WHY 12 KNOTS?
We used to live on a ship under a Christian NGO, a Nonprofit organization for a few years.
12 knots is the most efficient speed of the vessel that save fuel and environment. The crew members from all over the world call it as their floating home and so do we.
When the ship was in Africa, we heard an African proverb.
Who We Are
We are a family business run by CEO LJ (Jihyeon Lee) from South Korea and Brand Manager Amelie Länsberg from Sweden together with our daughter Leia Lee.
Right now we are operating from our home in Trollhättan with the coffee roastery in the garage and our office in the living room. It is not the most ideal factory nor shop, but it’s better to start small than not at all. Our next step will be to open a shop in town.
If you want to go fast go alone,
if you want to go far go together.
12 knots reminds us that it is okay to take it slow as long as we go together.
12 Knots Coffee Roasters is a coffee lover’s community. We know we are not extraordinary but can do extraordinary work when we put our hands together.
12 Knots is an invitation to everyone to join our journey to make our world a better place through the coffee we love. Apart from coffee, we are also interested in many activities such as recycling, collaborating with other local businesses and the list goes on and on.
But first, we want you to experience our coffee. Each coffee is quite special for their distinguished character, just like people.
Different characters bring us fun, dynamics, creativity, joy, and hope!
